Wacky 404
So what happens when you screw up ? You are manufacturing a car and you forget to install the door. Wait what ? is that even possible? Well maybe not. Some missing parts maybe easy to spot in a build process, the others not. So what happens if you build a website and have a broken link, not only that, you may have no broken links and someone like me see just wants to see how creative your build team is. Yes I am talking about the ubiquitous 404 page not found !
Occasionally while browsing the NZ Herald website, I would come across a broken link which would lead me to their wacky 404 page. With some time on hand before the weekend kicks in, I thought of checking out to see what other crazy 404s were out there. To achieve this, I hacked together a dirty script, which would take the website address of some of my recently visited sites, add /meh.html to it and capture a screenshot of the 404 page. The screenshots were then tidied up to be posted to Medium.
Here are my favorites. You can see, I have been following American politics, reading local news among other crap. This is by no means a complete list and I may update this story to share more wacky 404s as they are discovered. In short, bookmark this page and come back for more. If you like what you see, please support me by leaving a clap or a comment or share your own 404s. Here we go
